Maldonは、英国エセックス州にある40MW/40MWhの蓄電所。再生可能エネルギー発電の拡大と英国の系統強化の上で不可欠な柔軟性を提供。戦略的な意義からロンドン郊外の系統混雑域に所在し、2024年第二四半期までに商業運転開始予定。
2050年までにネットゼロを目標とする英国政府は、2035年までに系統の脱炭素化にコミット。蓄電所はこの転換において重要な役割を果たし、貯蔵した再生可能エネルギー電力を需要ピーク時に放出する一方、系統の需給調整を秒単位で実施
