At Eku Energy, we seek community feedback and input throughout the development of our projects to inform decisions around design, environmental and noise studies as well as close collaboration with local stakeholders like the fire department, council and community groups. In one our recent visits of Gladstone and Calliope, we introduced our project and received valuable feedback in relation to the name of the project stipulating it is located in Calliope, when it is in fact situated in Byellee, directly adjacent to existing Calliope Substation. Conventionally, BESS projects are named after the substation they connect into, which is Calliope Substation in this case. Yet, thanks to this great insight, we have now decided to rename the project to Byellee BESS.
Our team will be up in Gladstone again at the end of July. Look out for updates here on ekuenergy.com/byellee and check Gladstone Today for notifications. We are always happy to meet up and learn more.
