Aun Mela joined BCI in May 2018 and is currently a Senior Principal within BCI’s infrastructure investment team . Aun currently leads principal infrastructure investments as part of the Renewables, electric utilities, North American, LatAm, and infrastructure debt sourcing and execution strategies.
Aun's infrastructure investment experience spans North America & MENA, including exposure to Asia and LatAm through transaction and asset management experiences. Aun has 14 years of overall experience and 11 years of infrastructure investing experience with a focus on power, renewables, sustainable energy, and digital infrastructure.
Prior to joining BCI, Aun was a founding member of Saudi Aramco’s renewable energy team and helped implement the National Renewable while working in multiple capacities as a sustainable energy investment professional.
Aun has an MBA from Ivey Business School, MSc. in Sustainable Electrical Energy from Georgia Tech, MSc. from KAUST and B.Eng. Honors in Electrical and Computer Engineering from National University of Singapore and McGill University.
Aun serves as a non-executive director on the boards of Isagen (3.2 GW of renewable platform in Colombia with 3GW of hydro capacity), Reden Solar (European solar IPP with 1 GW of operating assets & 15 GW of pipeline) and Eku Energy, and is part of the coverage team of other infrastructure investments including Transelec which is BCI’s power transmission utility in Chile with 10,000 km transmission network.
