We are keen to receive feedback from local residents and the community about the project.
The project is located adjacent to the Calliope River, near Gladstone in Central Queensland with a direct connection to the Calliope Substation. We are developing Byellee BESS together with our co-development partner Atria Energy who have extensive experience in developing large-scale BESS and solar farms across Australia. Byellee BESS is anticipated to be in operations in 2028.
Battery storage is critical to deliver energy security. Byellee BESS is designed to store and release electricity and provide support to stabilise the grid in Central Queensland.
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Country on which we live and work including the Taribelang Bunda, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang, and Bailai Peoples, the traditional owners of the land on which the proposed project will store energy, and pay respect to Taribelang Bunda, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang, and Bailai Peoples Elders past and present. We acknowledge and respect their culture, beliefs, contributions, and spiritual and historic connection with the land.
